A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty. ~ Winston Churchill
OPTIMIST: a person disposed to take a favorable view of things. The optimist on the other hand chooses to look at the bright side of everything and turns obstacles into opportunities, mistakes into lessons and somehow finds a way to get the best out of everything. These people expect great things to happen to them and the great things do happen, because you see, beliefs become self fulfilling prophecies and in the end you will receive from life what you expect to receive.
Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence. ~ Hellen Keller
Isn’t it funny? Life will give you whatever experiences you expect to receive from it and it has no need to prove you wrong or right, it’s only us humans who do this. Life is neither good nor bad, it just is, and it’s up to us to choose the kind of life we want to create.
“Watch your thoughts, for they become words. Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become character. Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”
So out of these two, which one will you choose? All you have to do is look at the two words and their definition and pick one, and from that point on you allow yourself to become one with it.
Right from the beginning we were given a choice right? We all have a choice on how to look at things, how to perceive the world and the events that take place in our lives, how to think, how to behave. By knowing that we can control it all, and by knowing that our attitude in the end will determine our altitude, isn’t it smart to have a positive one? Isn’t it smart to be an optimist rather than an pessimist and to choose for ourselves the level of happiness and inner peace that will be present in our lives?
No matter what happens to us and no matter how hard life may seem sometimes, we always have a choice to shift our perceptions, to turn problems into opportunities for growth, mistakes into lessons, the bad into good, the ugly into beautiful. We have that much power and control over our lives and it’s up to us whether we choose this power for own own benefit or not.
