The marvel of Martini Madness

Written by
This past Friday, Friends of City Park hosted their annual fundraiser, Martini Madness, a title that couldn’t be more literal and correct! With more than thirty martinis, the celebration offered every kind of creatively concocted sweet and dirty martini you could imagine with names like Sunrise, Midnight Moon Moonshine, Mandarin, Spiced Pear, Bare Bones Pomegranate, Honey-suckle, and Mango Quencher. And lest we forget the dessert inspired martinis, including Raspberry Cupcake, Chocolate Glazed Donut, and IntheNOLA’s favorite, Pineapple Upside Down Cake! There was even a peanut butter and jelly martini for the kid in you! Absolute martini madness, I tell you, and all worth it.
If you’ve been to Martini Madness in the past few years, you’ll remember that it used to be held at the Pavilion of the Two Sisters in the Botanical Gardens. Well, this year’s party moved to the beautiful Arbor Room at Popp Fountain not far from City Park’s dog park, NOLA City Bark. The entrance was breathtaking with the Popp Fountain setting a gorgeous backdrop and the melodies of a harpist giving it a feel of serenity prior to entering the Arbor Room filled with tables of martinis upon martinis and more martinis, delectable dishes, and a DJ with all the right grooves for a good time. The room was full of smiles and laughter as far as the eye could see and Big Easy Photobooth was there to capture those great moments.

It was an ‘everybody’s-out-kind-of-night,’ ladies, couples, and mingling singles all in support of City Park.
