IntheNOLA.com presents 2nd Annual ‘Heritage: A Brass Band Celebration’ benefiting Son of a Saint Foundation

Written by  IntheNOLA.com
If you were at last year’s Heritage: A Brass Band Celebration, then you know that we tore it down! And this year’s event is no different!

We are so proud to present our second annual Heritage: A Brass Band Celebration benefiting local cause Son of a Saint Foundation! Come listen, dance, and enjoy the music of FOUR of the hottest BRASS BANDS in New Orleans: Hot 8 Brass Band, Free Agents Brass Band, The Original Pinettes Brass Band, and To Be Continued Brass Band under one roof in support of Son of a Saint Foundation, hosted by Varion Laurent with DJ Raj Smoove providing music in between and after all sets to close this celebration out right!

But that’s not all! Enjoy complimentary beer courtesy of NOLA Brewing, cocktails from Old New Orleans Rum, pizza from Pepperoni Rays, sweets from Haydel's Bakery, and handkerchiefs for second lining the night away from Purple Monkey.

Join IntheNOLA at Heritage: A Brass Band Celebration Saturday, April 6, 2013. Doors open at 8:00pm with brass band performances starting at 8:15pm at Studio 3 (3610 Toulouse St.). Tickets are $25 in advance online and can be purchased at http://inthenolaheritage.eventbrite.com. Tickets will be $30 at the door.

Before the brass band throw down, don’t miss the Patron Party from 7:00pm-8:00pm with music by trumpeter Mario Abney, a performance by Amy Tracy of Gravity Defying Fitness, delicious food courtesy of the Besh Restaurant Group, The Munch Factory, and Lady Marmalade Catering and Cuisine, beer from NOLA Brewing, cocktails from Old New Orleans Rum, and wine from Pontchartrain Vineyards. Tickets are $75/person or $125 for two in advance online at http://inthenolaheritage.eventbrite.com.  No Patron Party tickets will be sold at the door.

Proceeds from the event will go to local cause, Son of a Saint Foundation, founded by native New Orleanian, Bivian “Sonny” Lee, III. As the son of former New Orleans Saints defensive back, Bivian Lee, Jr., Sonny established Son of a Saint Foundation to enhance the lives of fatherless young males through mentorship, education, sports, and mental health services.  Donations can be made to Son of a Saint Foundation at www.sonofasaint.org.

Join us as we celebrate the culture of New Orleans!
